  • What is the Power Washers of North America?

PWNA is a non-profit trade association founded in 1992 representing contractors across the exterior cleaning industry. Our focus is on safety standards, industry compliance, and professional training — giving contractors the tools and knowledge they need to run better, more legitimate businesses.

  • Who does PWNA represent?

We represent the full spectrum of exterior cleaning contractors — pressure washing, soft washing, fleet washing, concrete cleaning, kitchen exhaust cleaning, wood restoration, solar panel cleaning, and more. If you're in the exterior cleaning industry, PWNA was built for you.

  • Is PWNA a non-profit?

Yes. PWNA is a registered non-profit organization. Everything we do is directed back into serving our members and advancing the exterior cleaning industry.

  • What are the benefits of becoming a PWNA member?

Members get access to industry-recognized certifications, compliance resources, a national contractor directory, networking opportunities, convention access, and a collective voice in regulatory matters that affect the industry. It's less about perks and more about having a professional foundation under your business.

  • What types of membership does PWNA offer?

PWNA offers several membership tiers for individual contractors, businesses, and vendors/suppliers. Visit our Membership page for current options and pricing.

  • Can vendors and suppliers join PWNA?

Yes. PWNA welcomes industry vendors and suppliers through our vendor membership program. It's a great way to get in front of working contractors and support the industry you serve.

  • What certifications does PWNA offer?

PWNA offers a range of industry certifications covering soft washing, pressure washing, kitchen exhaust cleaning (KEC), and more. Certifications are available through our annual convention and select online training programs.

  • How do I access my online training?

You can log into your training portal directly at my.pwna.org. If you're having trouble accessing your account, reach out to us at info@pwna.org and we'll get you sorted out.

  • Is PWNA training available outside of the annual convention?

Yes. We offer online training year-round through our member portal. Private training can also be requested for teams or organizations that need on-site instruction.

  • What regulations should exterior cleaning contractors be aware of?

The three main regulatory areas that affect mobile contractors are OSHA (workplace safety standards), EPA (Clean Water Act and wastewater compliance), and DOT (transportation laws for vehicles hauling equipment and chemicals). PWNA provides education and resources in all three areas to help members stay compliant.

  • How does PWNA help with regulatory compliance?

We keep members informed on current regulations, provide compliance-focused training, and actively engage with regulatory agencies on behalf of the industry. When new rules are being written that could affect how you operate, PWNA works to make sure contractors have a voice in that process.

  • When and where is the PWNA annual convention?

Our annual convention moves locations each year. Check our Convention page for the most current dates, location, and registration information.

  • How do I find a PWNA-certified contractor in my area?

You can search our contractor directory at directory.pwna.org. Every contractor listed is a PWNA member, which means they've committed to our Code of Ethics and have access to industry training and compliance resources.

  • Why hire a PWNA member contractor?

PWNA members are held to a professional standard. They've agreed to our Code of Ethics, have access to ongoing training, and are connected to an industry network that keeps them current on safety and compliance. When you hire a PWNA member, you're hiring someone who takes their work seriously.

  • I'm a contractor interested in getting involved with PWNA. Where do I start?
